had a wonderful time visiting southern tier! the hostess bella was so sweet and my server Tori was attentive and her suggestions were spot on! the manager chris came over and checked on us and overall great experience highly recommend the buddha bowl

We gave this place another chance, but unfortunately it continues to go downhill. The hostesses were the highlight of the visit. They were energetic, welcoming, and genuinely friendly from the moment we walked in. The bartender, however, gave a completely different impression. They didn't seem warm or welcoming, and it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than customers. One of the biggest issues was the number of flies inside. This wasn't an outdoor patio or an open-air bar, yet flies were constantly swarming around our legs while we sat at the bar. It made the experience very uncomfortable. It seemed like once the staff noticed us dealing with the flies, the bartender became more attentive, but it felt more like damage control than addressing the actual problem. The food was disappointing as well. The nachos were very underwhelming, and the "loaded" fries were barely loaded at all. The fried pickles were the one bright spot—they were cooked well and tasted great. The place also seemed unusually empty, which makes it easy to understand why people in the Buffalo area may be choosing to go elsewhere. Overall, this was a very weak experience. Absolutely outstanding experience at Southern Tier Brewing Company on Ellicott, and a huge reason for that was Mackenzie behind the bar. As a business owner, I pay close attention to customer service, professionalism, and how people make guests feel. Mackenzie exceeded every expectation. From the moment I sat down, she was welcoming, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what she does. I told her I wanted something different and asked her to surprise me. Without hesitation, she recommended the Raspberry selection, and wow — that ended up being one of the best drinks I’ve had in a very long time. It was exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for. That level of product knowledge and confidence is rare, and it completely elevated my experience. What impressed me most wasn’t just the recommendation; it was the way she created an experience. We stopped by Southern Tier after a hike. It was an early Sunday afternoon, so it wasn’t busy, but you can tell it is the place to be for sporting events, especially so close to Key Bank Arena. The service was pleasant and our server was attentive. I got the shrimp tacos, and they were amazing. Even the corn chips tasted freshly made in house. My fiancé got the club and homemade chips. The food was excellent, and I was happy to find some gluten-free options. I’m not celiac, so I can’t say whether or not there would be any cross-contamination concerns. We will definitely be back again!

Quiet atmosphere with plenty of television entertainment. Conveniently located near a major event arena, so it's perfect for catching a quick bite before the show or game! Server wasn't very personable- he sort of took our order and ran away. Food was good, for the appetizers and beer we had.
